PROBLEM SOLVING / CRITICAL THINKING
Systems Analysts must be able to identify problems and must quickly find accurate solutions. Taking courses such as AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles has taught me to think outside of the box and to play attention to detail through projects and debugging exercises. |
COMMUNICATION
Systems Analysts must be able to effectively communicate with their clients and co-workers. As a Corporate Fundraising Captain for BASD Mini-THON, I gained experience by contacting businesses through email, phone, and visitations. |
WRITING SKILLS
Systems Analysts must be able to transcribe their ideas into tangible items such as documents and programs. Taking AP English Language and Composition taught me how to establish tone and fluency through writing. |
ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Systems Analysts must be able to interpret data and analyze large quantities of numbers. I gained experience with this skill while working with my school district's IT Department over the summer. Many of the tasks involved creating spreadsheets and interpreting data. Additionally, courses such as AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics helped sharpen ability to work with numbers. |
CREATIVITY
Systems Analysts must be able to implement and generate new ideas. While volunteering at East Hills and Spring Garden, I had to make lesson plans that were appealing to a younger audience. Each lesson plan had to be fun, creative, and educational. This experience has allowed me to work creatively. |
